Old School But the Best This washer does not have all the bells and whistles as the latest and greatest out there. But it also doesn't have the price point. What is does have it does exceptionally well. I wanted a top loader with an agitator. The clothes come out smelling clean, you wouldn't think it was a big deal but after having a front loader where the clothes came out smelling like cologne it is a big deal. Thank you speed queen for making a great product.

Much more than I expected When our old washing machine died this summer (after 20 years), we discovered how tricky it can be to replace an appliance during this time of pandemic-disrupted supply chains. We also discovered that washers and dryers in general seemed to have ballooned in size in the two decades since we bought our set. So our search for a new washer was constrained by two unexpected factors: (1) it had to be in stock somewhere, not lost in a "delivery expected in six months" limbo, and (2) it had to be close in size to our older washer in order to fit into our rather small laundry room, which also houses the furnace and water heater. I started by looking for front-loaders, which I have always preferred, but couldn't find one that met those criteria. In the end we bought this Speed Queen washer more or less by default, as it was the only one locally available that fit our needs. I was bummed that it was a top-loader, but now that I've used it for a couple of months, I really like it. It's a pretty basic machine, but I like that it has an eco-wash option to be less wasteful of water, and that it's quiet and very effective. I knew nothing about the brand going in, but I learned at the time of purchase and upon doing a little research afterward that Speed Queen is extremely highly rated for durability and performance. Now I'm pleased that this machine is what I ended up with.
