Orbital Wash System

The Orbital wash system consists of a double spray arm with contra-action rotation which distributes water evenly throughout the cavity. This ensures excellent wash quality and a greatly reduced noise level.

Total "Aquastop" Water Protection System An electronic infrared sensor measures the clarity of the water during an Auto programme, and automatically ensures the minimum consumption of water and energy during the load. Models with Aquatest will have at least one Auto programme. An electronic device fitted to the water intake hose, which monitors water levels in the machine, detects leaks in the hose and switches off the water supply immediately when necessary.

Self-Balancing Door The self-balancing door hinges is always balanced, letting it remain in fixed open at any angle you choose.

FlexiDuo Cutlery Basket The Smeg FlexiDuo cutlery basket allows cutlery, small cups or awkwardly shaped serving, items such as ladles, to be arranged in the most space effective way, ensuring excellent washing and drying results. The sections can be slid one under the other, or removed completely, depending on loading requirements.

Looks amazing; high-quality feel We did a fair amount of research after our Fisher Paykel died. The reviews for Fisher Paykel are terrible and the repairman suggested moving away from the brand (even though it was built-in with panels). All the reviews for SMEG seem to be from Australia and they are mostly positive. The look of the dishwasher is amazing. Really high-quality, including the baseboard -- also stainless. The machine works great, if a bit complicated to operate. Dishes are super clean and we've only used the quick setting. There's a fair amount of steam that escapes at the end of the cycle, but nothing major. Also, it seems that all the new machines don't use heating elements and encourage you to open the door when done. Some other features we like: The controls are on the top and mostly hidden, but still can reference when closed. There's an on/off button, which seem to be missing from some newer products. The very top rack is great for silverware. The downside: Install was hard. We had to hire plumbers who were somewhat taken aback by the the complexity of the machine and the need to change the dishwasher connection (SMEG included instructions, but the plumbers just made a new connection).
