Very quiet and cools well Our old unit was 20+ years old when it failed, so we decided it was not worth repairing. After looking at what was available this model had what is most important to us: ample refrigerator volume and a decent sized freezer. Based upon the energy guide cost to operate this refrigerator will pay for itself in 20 months when compared to the refrigerator it replaced - nice! Also, BestBuy price matched the competition, so we were able to shop closer to home, get what we wanted, and save.

Does the job but buzzes loudly It does the job, keeps food cold and makes ice. Good size inside. Our biggest frustration with this fridge is that it gives off a loud buzzing noise while its compressor is running, which for some reason is the majority of the day. It's loud enough to be annoying 15 feet away in our living room while watching a movie. We had an LG technician take a look at it and he said, and I quote, "that's normal man, that's a $2000 paperweight". He said the buzzing is caused by LG's poorly designed compressor and said it will fail within a couple of years. He even mentioned there being a number of class-action lawsuits around the country due to this compressor failing. He recommended never buying an appliance from a TV company, makes sense. Here's hoping ours doesn't fail in the next year or two!

Really easy to see everything I love the fact that is it really easy to see everything in the fridge. The main shelves are adjustable and one side could be higher than the other to accommodate for taller items. The lights are bright and easy to see. Only thing I miss about my side by side is the freezer. Same amount of room just that I have to dig into the drawer to get some of the bigger items out. The slide out drawer makes it a breeze to keep the smaller items organized. Ice maker is also great. For me, at first, it took a whole day to make a batch of ice but now its making ice all the time. Water dispenser also works great. The stainless steel finish is looks great and the fingerprint resistant finish stands up to everyday prints as long as your hands are dry.
