Excellent dishwasher - quiet - cleans really well We picked up this dishwasher at the same time as our new stove. The dishwasher was in the open box section and it had a minor scratch on the bottom front of the door. I was amazed at how much they had taken off the price solely for it being open box and the small scratch. We immediately jumped on the deal and got the dishwasher home to replace our old one that was from 1995 (piece of junk). The dishwasher is extremely quiet and cleans dishes really well. Since the kitchen flows into the entertainment room, we wanted something quiet that could be run while we are watching a movie. If the TV is off, you can hear the slight sound from the dishwasher. However, as soon as the TV is on with any noise, you can't hear it what so ever. The only thing I have noticed with the dishwasher is how quickly the filter cage gets grimy and stinky. My wife and I scrape our dishes prior to loading them to ensure there are no big chunks of food - and we typically run it 3-4 times per week. I have found that we have to really clean out the filter at least monthly to keep it from getting gunked up and stinky. Overall, amazing dishwasher that we will put to work without a doubt. Thank you!

Great Dishwasher Our old dishwasher was easily nearing the end and when this LG dishwasher went on sale, we bit the bullet and financed it. Biggest thing folks probably don't realize when checking out the washer... there is no heating element so in order for your dishes to actually get dry you HAVE to use a rinse aid. First night I used the dishwasher, I didn't have any rinse aid because I had never needed it. So when I opened the washer after the cycle was complete I thought to myself, crap, what have I just bought because everything was still wet-ish. First chance I got to go to the grocery store I purchased the Jet-Dry finish powerball quantum dish tabs along with the Jet-Dry finish rinse-aid. Fill up the rinse-aid container on the dishwasher wall completely. The dishwasher will use it sparingly as needed per wash and when it needs more, it'll tell you from a blinking button on the top. Dishes come out clean, clear and dry now! You can use the "extra dry" setting if super skeptic about the dishes getting dry (just a longer cycle). All in all, happy with it and it looks great. Really wanted the buttons on top so they weren't visible while the door was shut. Best way to handle this is to do all your selections per cycle while the door is slightly open and then click start. The top will show a countdown timer of 4 seconds in which you can shut the door and then it starts. I mention this because if you get the top buttons, upon shutting the dishwasher door the buttons can "disappear" under the counter which is what you want anyways when the dishwasher is placed and pushed back into position. The value I put as a five rating because my wife and I waited and purchased this on a sale for around $630 (I refused to pay the over $800 price).

Best dishwasher ever This is the best dishwasher I have ever owned. I was told not to rinse things to much just gets the chunks off and I figured I would give that a try knowing I would have to take everything out, rinse it well and scrub it a little and wash again. Boy, was I wrong! Those dishes came out sparking and clean! I was shocked. Not only that but it was so quiet I never even heard it running while in the same room! My nephew was so impressed he bought one exactly like it!

Quiet Very quiet. After first water test run by installer, inside was covered with white film. Cleaned it with vinegar, and all is good. Knocked off a star. The top mounted controls/display are somewhat visible with the door closed, but you can't read them, nor adjust them. Seems they should either be visible/usable, or not.
