Fine looking refrigerator inside and out This bottom freezer model was the most functional fridge on the market that would fit our space. It has clean lines and looks nice inside and out. The LEDs in the refrigerator light up the entire space nicely. No lights in the freezer, but the drawer areas seem well-designed leaving no dark corners or dead space. Nowhere for food to disappear or get stuck as in some French door and bottom freezer models. The externally mounted filter is not ideal, though I guess the trade off is more usable interior space. There is no way to mount the filter next to or behind the fridge. (If there was that much room to the sides, we would have gotten a larger model. Mounting behind would have negated the benefits of a "counter depth" model.) We ended up drilling a hole in the wall for the tubing and mounting the filter in the adjacent pantry. Also, it would be great if the water dispenser in the door could also dispense ice, but I'm not sure if that's worth the reduction in fridge space that would result. The price for this fridge is high. There are many models on the market with more features, similar energy ratings, and a similar aesthetic for less money...but none (or few) that fit a 33" space. Overall, I'm pleased with the refrigerator.

Will never go back to single-condenser! I purchased the Fisher & Paykel RF170WDLUX5 because they have a seeming lock on decent refrigerators in compact sizes. Specifically, in my case counter-depth and 30" wide to fit an existing space. Other than F&P, it leaves you with some really low-end top-freezer models, and actually very limited choice in counter-depth, so leaves you with a basic fridge that sticks out in the room otherwise. ;( So, I really didn't buy for the dual condensers, but I did eventually convince myself that they might justify the seeming high price for a refrigerator in this size. Now that I've been using the refrigerator, I realize it is a difference of night and day vs traditional fridges that cool the freezer, and control the amount of air pass-through to the fridge section. Fruits and vegetables keep so much better! And you don't get nearly as much frost in the freezer. I would never go back now to a single-condenser fridge. If you compare to, say, SubZero (which is also dual-compressor, though) it is actually a huge bargain! I do realize their are other choices. I understand Samsung pioneered dual-condenser as an affordable alternative to dual-compressor. (Which is basically two separate refrigeration sections, which helps to make SubZero both costly and space-consuming). Dunno what patent protection Samsung has, or whether F&P has licensed it, but in any case, good to have alternatives. There was a Samsung model that would have ALMOST worked in my space, but would have required some modification, and the model doesn't get great reviews anyway. Not having in-door ice is a bit of an inconvenience, but on the other hand, I won't miss ice on the floor! The ice bin has a small capacity, but I haven't found I need more, and there is a clever bin arrangement that makes it possible to expand the ice storage, say, if you are going to have a party. The best thing about ice in general (I haven't actually used the ice maker yet) is that the ice doesn't get nasty. You don't need as big a bin or to make ice quickly if you don't have to dump all of your ice periodically because it is nasty and stuck together! I dunno about taste/odor transfer, have never had that problem. But if you have, should solve it, as there is no air exchange between fridge and freezer.

Dana Cove Dave Beautiful, works well, I like the size fits nicely in a cabinet. I'm going to buy another for my retirement home I'm building in Florida.
