The Search is Over!
The Bosch 800 series dishwasher is hands down the best investment of a major appliance that I've ever made! I have a family of five and we load it to the max. It cleans and dries so efficiently you won't believe it. The push button wash options are very easy to use. There are two compartments for soap (one for a pod and the other for liquid finish that shines your dishes. Oh yeah, it's also extremely quiet, the only way you can tell its on is by the little red light that shines on the floor and when the water drains. The storage capacity is plentiful. Love the upper rack for odds and ends. *Disclaimer* ~ there is a nuisance smell for the first couple of weeks (new parts smell) it goes away on its own and is not even close to a deal breaker. I'm a handyman but was happy to let the pro's install this one. They had to install a separate power source. I highly recommend this dishwasher for those that are on a quest for the best dishwasher on the market for a reasonable price.

Plates, silverware, and Glasses all look brand new
Like others, I read reviews on many dishwashers, we settled on 3, 2 Bosch & an LG. We purchased after Black Friday, so we missed all of the deals. Had 3 Whirlpools in the past. Last one stopped cleaning after 4 years. Like some suggested, I brought to the store, some of our dishes, a silverware setting and the tallest pilsner glass we use. Wanted to make sure the adjustable racks fit OUR dinnerware, they did. Worked out our best deal and had the Bosch 800 delivered. I did the install, pretty simple. Just a little hard working under the sink connecting the dishwasher. I purchased a plug in wire set, and a dishwasher rubber graduated extension. The Bosch has a wire box which you connect to your service. I put a high loop on the drain hose, lifting it over the top inside of our cabinet. The clean and Dry are fantastic even peanut butter on the knife. Glasses are spotless, we are using the Jet Dry rinse aid. After cleaning cycle the red floor light goes off and we leave the door closed for another hour or so, to let the drying work. If you open the door right after the light goes out, you will see and feel the hot vapor created by the process. The third shelf is great, we just pick out all the spoon's etc., at the same time, easier to put away. We have no problems with any tines obstructing our pots, bowls, etc. We highly recommend the Bosch SS Dishwasher, it does exactly what you think all DW are suppose to do.

Bosch is simply the best
When we built our house made the mistake buying a Monogram dishwasher. We also have a fridge, which is good but not great, at least it works properly. After several years of frustration with the Monogram dishwasher, and after replacing it under warranty once, we took no chance and bought the Bosch 800.
The installation guys replaced the dishwasher within 20 minutes leaving everything clean and organized after installing, can't tell this from every installer. The kit that they made us buy was useless and returned it to the store. The Bosch washes perfectly, it is now rather rare that a dish is not perfectly clean, could not tell the same before. We do not pre wash anything, all dishes go in very dirty and come out shiny clean. It is ultra quiet, wouldn't know it was running if it wasn't for the red light on the floor. Now we can really use the dishwasher daily and are no longer frustrated with dirty dishes. There are certainly other good dishwashers out there but if you want the best go with Bosch.

NSF rating is a great plus!
This machine came ready to install. The install package the associate included (gratis) is going back, there was not one thing we needed - it was nice of her though. It is as quiet as advertised; and while configured somewhat differently than the unit it replaced, has an amazing capacity. Yes, with the NSF certification, you can be sure you are not eating last month's flu virus. The exterior cleans up nicely; it looks good in the kitchen without drawing attention to itself. We do like the autoclean feature; sure, all of the machines have it now, but this one starts with under 3 gallons of water consumption, less than half of the other one we had considered, (...Which I must say was REALLY NICE too!) Overall I am very pleased with it.

It looks good, cleans most things good, very quiet
I installed the dishwasher figuring I had a POJ (piece of.....) Maytag dishwasher that I was replacing with the Bosch. Unhook one and put new one in. And for the most part it went that way. Bottom line I got it installed and it works and if I can install it anyone can...that being said it took me two days and lots of colorful metaphors to do it, but do it I did.
I like the top rack for silverware. It kinda forces you to put the silverware in individually but that ensures two oieces won't become fused together with last nights macaroni an cheese. The second shelf is nice and deep. The bottom shelf, I don't know, I'm not crazy about. Maybe I haven't quite grasped the configuration. I can't seem to figure out how to load it right. It doesn't seem to take dishes like a normal rack. Mine end up laying on top of each other. Look, I'm not stupid, I've had dishwashers all my life. I never gave loading one a second thought, plates just naturally line up ya know? In this one they don't for some reason. Once I figure out what they were thinking when they designed this maybe It will click...as they say, the jury is still out.
Its whisper quiet running. If not for the red light shining on the floor you wouldn't know it was on. The inside of dishwasher does seem to have a funky smell. Its not filters needing cleaning from food debris because it started from day one with the funky smell but, unless you stick your head in there its not noticeable, It's not like a stench that stinks that part of the kitchen up, but I wouldn't care to eat dinner right next to it, keep that in mind when deciding placement. It runs for a long time, I think that's something they all do now because of less water use. I haven't had a problem with that so far. I just turn it on before going to bed. Some things it cleans very well, others not so much. I have some clear plastic glasses that fall under not so much. It seems to leave a milky residue on them...its not the rinse aid. I made sure it had some. Regular glassware comes out clean, silverware spotless, plates clean pots and pans more of that milky stuff. Overall its ok, does it knock my socks off? No. If it's still going strong in 10 years, then we'll talk about missing socks.
