Better and safer than Electric We switched from the standard electric cooktop to have the safety and speed of induction, it definitely paid off! Heating the burner only where the pan is, a faster cool off time, and burners that do not turn on unless approved cookware is on them is a must and is a huge safety factor in our home. Boiling water and reheating food is a lot faster. Having the speed boost mode and a timer for every burner is a great safety and convenience option. Seeing exactly where to set the pans are a little harder when used to a white cooktop, but lighting is probably a big factor as well. With just a month of usage, it was a great switch, especially for the safety and efficiency. Cleaning it only requires a window cleaner and not scraping. I just wish we would have bought the one with the stainless trim to make cleaning easier. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Love It Love It! Love it! I am having so much fun learning to cook on my induction cooktop. Boiling water in minutes, searing ahi, keeping my sauce warm for as long as I need it. Clean up is so easy. I am putting a paper towel down on the burner so keep the cooktop sparkling clean. I boil water for anyone who needs a demonstration, and they are all impressed! Do not buy I bought this a year ago and while it works OK, the design is poor, the SS edging only is on the top and bottom, where the sides are just the glass. one month after I had it installed the side chipped, not sure how, I do not drop pans on it. then just a month ago my husband noticed a crack going from another little chip on the side, now this week it is a full blow crack and the side corner is chipping also. I am not that hard on a cooktop and these should be built to withstand any type of pan on it. I have very nice SS heavier pans, but that should not be a problem for a cooktop.
